Flipping the Narrative
ABOUT THE BLOG
My goal is to Stand Up Paddle 1000 miles within the next year in an effort to raise awareness and money to help better understand Sarcoidosis. $10000 is the goal. That equates to $10 for every mile paddled. Why did I choose 1000 miles, well it sounded reasonable with a family and a full time job. I will need to average about 20 miles a week year round to reach this goal. This means 20 miles in the cold, 20 miles in the rain, 20 miles in the snow, 20 miles in the wind, and even 20 miles in the heat.. I live in the Pacific Northwest that last one will be a pleasure.
This blog will follow my journey over the next year. All the successes all the failures (aka opportunities to learn) and all the raw emotion. This will be my story, my training journal, and my added accountability.
I also plan to use my expertise in exercise science and health to help fill in the gaps. So expect to see some great information on training, exercises, and nutrition along the way.
The only thing that I ask is that if you learn anything from this blog, please donate if you can.
